This bungalow was stuck in a time warp. From asbestos in the walls, to aluminum wiring, this 70s home had it all! The previous kitchen was home to dark oak cabinets with a separate formal dining room. Several layers of vinyl flooring, and a dropped ceiling with fluorescent lighting dated the space.
We created an open concept kitchen to provide a clear line of sight to the surrounding landscape through the large open windows. Contrasting glass hutches, a large breakfast bar, and a soft colour palette balanced comfort and timeless modern farmhouse aesthetic for our clients to enjoy.
The floor-length windows in the living room provide a view of the exquisite colours of the forest scenery, seen from every window throughout the home!
New flooring, trim and doors helped to update the spaces. From custom accent walls, beautifully patterned wallpaper and marble mosaics this home now not only functions better but is bright and welcoming. A fresh design palette that incorporates organic textures, linens and lots of soft whites is now the perfect combination with the young homeowners.
These spaces were once dated and dark which did not at all reflect the homeowners personality. Discovering some serious issues with mice and mould really kept us on our toes but only made the final reveal that much more special. With some small re-configurations we were able to enlarge the bathrooms while providing ample storage for these rooms.
